Scentora is a personal fragrance journal designed to help you organize your perfume collection, track how each scent performs over time, and uncover patterns in your fragrance preferences. We understand that the content you add to your personal collection is private, and we are committed to protecting your data.

This policy explains our practices for collecting, using, storing, and protecting your information when you use the Scentora app. By using Scentora, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We only collect information that is necessary to deliver the full Scentora experience you expect. This falls into two categories: information you actively provide, and anonymous data collected automatically to improve our service.

• All content you add to your fragrance profiles: including fragrance names, brand details, personal notes, custom tags, and any photos of your collection you upload
• Usage logs you actively record: every spray entry you add to your timeline, intensity ratings, and personal observations about how a scent performs on your skin
• Generated personalized data: custom animated decay curves, personal scent profiles, and usage statistics created from your logged activity
• Contact information you share when you reach out to us for support or feedback

• Basic device details: device type, operating system version, and app version to help us troubleshoot technical issues
• Aggregated anonymous usage data: non-identifiable information about feature usage (such as the fragrance wheel, photo gallery, and timeline) to help us improve the user experience
• Crash logs: anonymous error data to help us fix bugs and improve app stability

How We Use Your Information

We never use your personal data for purposes unrelated to the core Scentora experience. We use your information to:

• Store, organize, and display your fragrance collection, with optional cloud sync across your devices
• Generate personalized Scentora features: including animated intensity decay curves, personalized scent profiles, and usage statistics that help you discover patterns in what you wear most
• Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features that align with how users interact with the app
• Respond to your support requests and feedback
• Protect the security and integrity of our services

We do not use your identifiable personal fragrance data for third-party advertising without your explicit written consent.

Data Storage & Security

By default, all of your personal fragrance data is stored locally on your device. Only if you enable optional cloud backup/sync will your data be stored on our encrypted cloud servers.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. While no digital storage method is 100% secure, we work continuously to update our security practices to keep your personal collection safe.

You can export all of your fragrance data in a portable, standard format at any time, or delete any or all of your data permanently from your device and our servers.

Data Sharing & Disclosure

Your personal collection data belongs to you. We never sell, rent, or share your identifiable personal data with third parties for commercial purposes, except in the following limited cases:

• With your explicit consent: we only share your data if you directly approve the share, for example when you choose to share a fragrance profile with a friend via the app
• Trusted service providers: we work with a limited number of third-party providers (cloud storage, anonymous analytics) that are contractually bound to protect your data, and only receive the minimum data needed to perform their functions
• Legal requirements: we may only disclose your data if required by law, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect safety, or investigate fraud or security breaches

Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be used for product improvement or research purposes, and cannot be linked back to individual users.

Your Rights Over Your Data

You retain full control over all personal data you add to Scentora. You have the right to:

• Access, edit, or delete any individual fragrance entry, log, or other personal data at any time directly within the app
• Export all of your fragrance collection data in a portable format for your own personal backup
• Request permanent deletion of your entire account and all associated data from our servers
• Opt out of non-essential anonymous analytics collection at any time through your app settings

Children's Privacy

Scentora is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy periodically to reflect changes to our practices or app features. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this policy and notify users through in-app notifications. Your continued use of Scentora after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
